Adopting a Cat

You can view cats we have available on our Facebook page below:

Adoption Interest Registration Form

Please note: Completion of the form does not automatically enter you onto our waiting list, it only registers interest. We review each submission and will get back to you. We do receive a lot of submissions so it may take a while for us to get back to you, but we will endeavour to get in touch as soon as possible. We do conduct a home check prior to adoption. If you rent your property, you must provide written landlord permission to have cats in your property before we can progress your application (please send this via email to adoption@hectorshousecatrescue.org with your full name and address). Our adoption fees are £90 for cats and £225 for a pair of kittens. Occasionally we may have in our care a kitten which is suited to be rehomed singly, the cost of this rehoming fee is £125.
Please note adoption fees once paid to reserve a cat are generally non-refundable - this is at the discretion of the charity.

Once a reservation for your cat or kittens has been made, you must be ready to adopt your new cat/kittens within 3 days, unless the cat/kittens are not yet ready to be adopted - this can be agreed with and clarified by our adoption coordinator. Any days in excess of the 3 days (or agreed date) will incur a fee of £5 per day, per cat/kitten due to the additional costs of food, litter, flea/worm treatment etc.

If you are interested in adopting a cat, please do contact us even if we don't currently have any cats available. Before adoption, we complete a home check, and endeavour to make sure the right cat goes to the right family.

For this reason, sometimes as soon as we get a cat in there is likely someone already on the waiting list, which could be you!
